Atropa belladonna has positive medicinal values due to the presence of tropane alkaloids. In this study, 5 strains of Agrobacterium rhizogenes A4, ATCC, 1724, R1000, MSU were used in three explants of leaves, stems and roots to induce hairy roots, and finally, after selecting the superior line, it was exposed to six concentrations and five time treatments of methyl jasmonate treatment. According to the results obtained, the type of explants and different strains of Agrobacterium rhizogenes succeeded in having a significant effect on the percentage of hairy root production, also among the three explants used in the culture medium; only the leaf explant have produced hairy roots with the highest percentage of rooting (45.5%) was achieved by inoculation with the R1000 strain. In general, the methyl jasmonate elicitor will cause stress and toxicity if the concentration and duration of exposure to this treatment increases, and damage and reduced growth will be observed in the roots. However, if used correctly at the right concentration and time, it will increase metabolic activities and act as a strong molecular messenger.
